Disney Campus Recruitment Spotlights Innovation and Inspiration at Tech Talk for Students
Last week, Disney Campus Recruitment was thrilled to partner with Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) for our third Tech Talk on March 4, at the DATG offices in Burbank.
The audience—more than 50 students from across the Southern California region—participated in a robust panel discussion on the consumerization of technology, featuring key leaders in this space at DATG. Among them were Scott Erickson (vice president, Technology, Disney Television Animation), JR Grant (vice president, Video Products & Technology), and Alex Marshall (executive director, Technology Strategy).
The panelists offered students examples of recent projects they’ve worked on and consider points of pride, with DATG’s Intranet and the WatchABC app both high on their list as two platforms that effectively illustrate the principles they discussed.
After the hour-long panel, students were invited to a networking session with Disney technologists and recruiters from across the Company, gaining insights and asking questions to learn more about Disney’s leading efforts in technology—one of Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger’s main company priorities.
Students were also invited to tour DATG’s Digital Media space and engage with employees as they went about coding, programming and utilizing technology on the job. Through participation in technology demonstrations and exposure to new mobile apps, students left the event with new insights after a day of inspired thinking and firsthand examples of Disney’s continued commitment to technological innovation.
